Petros, a kind, hard-working young man, and Mary, a beautiful secretary, are planning to walk down the aisle. However, after an honest conversation with Litsa, a fashionable colleague, Mary will begin to get cold feet, and as a result, she decides to yield in the romantic advances of Nikos, a handsome and wealthy admirer. But now there is no turning back, and as both her father and Petros try to get her out of their lives, Mary has no other choice but to leave her home and Athens for good.
