Notes on a Scandal (2006)

This overwhelming psychological drama delves into the complex relationship between two female teachers at a London high school after the veteran, the loner Barbara, discovers her colleague Sheba's illicit affair with a 15-year-old student. Barbara's fixation with Sheba is relentless and their bond is consumed by manipulation and extortion, creating a web of deceit that threatens to destroy both of their lives. An intentionally uncomfortable film, with a lot of tension and intense performances by its leading actresses.
