Garlic and Sapphires

As her first marriage ends, a young food writer is hired to be the first female restaurant critic for the New York Times. Outed before she begins, she must live with her domineering mother and create characters and disguises to preserve her anonymity as she begins a more populist era of the appreciation of food which rocked the culture of the Times.
