Revolutionary Road (2008)

Set in the 1950s, the film follows the unhappy life of a couple living in the suburbs of Connecticut, whose marriage is going through a crisis. Frank and April believed that their irreverence would keep them from falling into a meaningless routine, but they become what they rejected: they live the american dream, although it is an empty dream. This raw romantic drama directed by Sam Mendes features two powerful performances by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in a measured, elegant and eventually devastating story.
