The lives of Julie Powell and Julia Child, one in 2002 and the other in 1950, share a common bond: their love for cooking. Julie, frustrated with her job, tries to cook the 524 recipes in Julia Child's cookbook over the course of a year, writing her experiences, such as her life with her husband, in a blog. For her part, Julia lives in Paris with her husband Paul, where she learns French, joins a culinary school and begins to think about writing a book. A film told with warmth and cheerfulness by its director and screenwriter Nora Ephron, with a brilliant performance by Meryl Streep and a lovable Amy Adams.
