Inland town Chantaburi police chief Lin Thanapat is confronted with a jungle foundling and turns to German psychotherapist Dr. Julia Wagner in an international clinic in Bangkok. The half-starved girl of eight, who likes to be called Alice, seems paranoid, but soon bonds with Julia, who takes her and an inseparable puppy to the Chantaburi clinic run by fellow expat Dr. Max Carrasin, chief physician who helps prevent the interesting case to become psychology professor Lirut's study object. The girl is identified as the daughter of previously wrongly-convicted contractor Henry Thomas, who was also indicated without proof having abused her and her equally missing mother. The police helps look into the case, while Henry impatiently demands parental custody restored, which Thai courts grant near-automatically. It's back to the jungle for evidence.
