Aama (1964)

A desperate young man joins the foreign army to earn money for his poor widow mother. When he returns after a couple of years, his mother is already dead. Then the elders of the village persuade him to stay behind in the village and serve the community, reiterating the saying that "service to the motherland is equally virtuous as a service to a mother"
