Reservoir (2013)

Two young American soldiers, Peter Dewey and Adam Pierce, are dispatched to a remote military post at the edge of an unforgiving desert. Their orders are to protect a pressure valve system and prevent possible incursions by enemies coming from behind a vast mountain range. In the stillness of this extreme landscape, the monotony of the task is only occasionally relieved by the vague hope that one day an enemy attack will offer the opportunity for meaning and honor. As days turn into months, loneliness to isolation, boredom to paranoia, Peter descends into a dark and delusional reality. His entire journey is an existential meditation on the meaningless cruelty of war, trapped in a large diorama of symbols that range from the role of religion in todays warfare to the western "fear propaganda" machine.
