Fishing for Survival is a 1 x 50' special, big game fishing adventure. Two professional anglers will fish the world's most challenging rivers in one of the most inhospitable areas on earth, traveling hundreds of miles deep within the Russian Arctic circle, accessible only by helicopter. Their prize: the majestic silver Atlantic salmon, brought back from the brink of extinction in these rivers by a 20 year protection program. Their goal: to evaluate the success of the conservation by landing the biggest Atlantic salmon ever recorded here. On the face of it their mission is simple. They have five days to catch, release and tag the biggest fish possible from three of the world's greatest salmon rivers - rivers that run hard, fast, wide and deep and are strewn with boulders, canyons and rock slides. But with weather conditions more extreme and variable than in living memory can they keep mind, body and spirit together whilst trying to land the ultimate prize in the angling world? Or will the fight for the 'King of Game Fish' give way to the battle within?
