The Patriot (2012)

This is a drama about a man torn between his love of family and the love of his country. Sent to Australia as a teenager, he was encouraged to study and learn medicine so that he might return to the country and family he loves and help his people. Having built a family and life in Australia, he lobbies for the freedom and welfare of his countrymen from afar. When he learns of his father's illness he is forced to confront the fact his political activism means that he may be placing all his family at risk by returning. If he doesn't return, he may never see his father, who sacrificed his own freedom to foster his son's, again.
