Many Sundays, on the beaches at Santa Barbara, Santa Monica and elsewhere, volunteers erect temporary "cemeteries"--fields of white wooden crosses and flag-draped caskets--in honor of the military dead of the Iraq War. In addition to memorializing the sacrifice of the fallen, Veterans For Peace and other organizations strive to protest the war and educate the public of its cost in human lives. This film contains many interviews with active service members, veterans, family members and mourners of the dead, and bystanders. Most interviewees are critical of the war effort, yet a few are in favor of the war.
