Abductee is a chilling "found footage" film set in the outskirts of Portland, Oregon. Terrifying in a way that few other horror films are, Abductee explores the bizarre and misunderstood world of alien abduction. Through a first person account, we come to know the fear and mental anguish that befalls a man as he attempts to unravel the mystery of what happens to him when he is alone in the middle of the night. Drew hasn't been sleeping very well. On numerous occasions he awakes suddenly, completely unable to move, a victim of a common, but terrifying disorder called Sleep Paralysis. After suffering from this condition for many years, Drew finally decides to take matters into his own hands and capture his nighttime episodes on video, in order to find out exactly what he is experiencing while he is frozen in his bed. With money inherited from his recently deceased father, Drew purchases an array of surveillance cameras and microphones and mounts them around his house in order to document his journey. Soon, he makes a bizarre discovery. During the morning review of one of his nightly recordings, he observes the video turn briefly to static. When the tape clears up, Drew's sleeping body is no longer lying in his bed. Fearing that sleepwalking may be the culprit, he enlists the reluctant help of his sister, Laurie. At first she stays with him out of pity, thinking his sleeplessness may be a consequence of their father's recent death. However, as the episodes become more frequent, and the explanations of his disappearances remain elusive, she must soon face the unlikely truth that something is taking him from his locked room in the dark hours before dawn. As the evidence mounts, they are forced to seek outside help from others who also claim to have been abducted. However, they soon find that not only are those who are coping with the same experiences as Drew less than helpful, but that they want nothing to do with him and his unorthodox methods of dealing with his own abductions. Tensions increase between the siblings as the terrifying abductors become more and more ruthless toward Drew, pushing him dangerously close to an emotional breakdown. Running out of options, he eventually resorts to drastic measures to stop his anguish, leading toward a climax that will tear both Drew and Laurie's lives apart. Abductee's shocking conclusion will linger with the viewers long after they leave the theaters, keeping their lights on late into the night and driving them to ask the question, "what comes for you when you sleep?"
