The Architects of Camellia (2019)

In Xin County, Henan Province, China, a transformation in the countryside unfolds as the nation industrializes. Through the lens of Alex Zou, a Chinese-American born in Massachusetts, filmmaker Christine Choy records the transition from traditional camellia oil-making methods to automation in factories. In the process, Alex connects with his roots in his father's hometown and searches for answers to some of life's larger questions.
