Rest Stop (2018)

John Dykstra, a mild-mannered English professor, struggles to reconcile his gentle academic life with his secret pen-name alter ego, Rick Hardin, who writes best-selling pulp crime novels starring his most important creation, a vigilante named "The Dog." On a drive home from a writer's event, Dykstra pulls over at a highway rest stop in the middle of nowhere. He is shocked to hear voices coming from the bathroom, as well as the clear sounds of domestic abuse. Does Dykstra have what it takes to intervene? And if not...maybe Rick Hardin does.
