Misericordia

I spent three months on the island of Itaparica in Bahia, Brazil, where I started gathering the dreams of people while filming scenes of their everyday lives. Soon that mixture of dreams and documentary triggered what could be called a third reality that belongs to the realm of magic: Misericórdia is evocative of a place that may or may not exist, that lays somewhere between the unconscious and the hot sun of Bahia.
