You have to reveal everything in order to be convincing.” Richard Gere is an acclaimed American actor known for his roles in romantic and dramatic films. He began his career in theater with the Provincetown Players and the Seattle Repertory Theatre before making his film debut in Report to the Commissioner (1975). Gere gained prominence with his roles in Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977) and became a sex symbol with Days of Heaven (1978) and American Gigolo (1980). His career solidified with An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), a major box office success, and he later achieved significant acclaim with Pretty Woman (1990), opposite Julia Roberts. Gere's notable performances include Primal Fear (1996), Chicago (2002), and The Hoax (2006).
