James DeValera Mansfield

Born in Frankfurt, Germany. Irish father (James Sr.) and Croation mother (Jane). Raised in Greece, Switzerland and Ireland. Attended Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design in Dublin. Lives in Los Angeles since 1990. One older sister (Adrianna) lives in Switzerland. Was instrumental in repatriating the Denham film archive and other artifacts recovered at Maisonneuve, France, in 1999, to the US. Presently directing a documentary feature that chronicles the ongoing restoration work and reconstructs the life of pioneering adventurer-filmmaker Carl Denham, whose brief, though notable career spanned the late 1920s and early 1930s.
