In 1969 Norman Shore won the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Lt. Col. N.P. Chipman in "The Andersonville Trial" and for Thomas Mendip in "The Lady's Not For Burning both directed by Frank Dowse at the famed Mountain View Playhouse in California. He appeared in several productions portraying a variety of different characters. He starred in radio broadcasts at Foothill college also directed by Frank Dowse. He was known as "Mister Playhouse."
