Sykes Powderface is originally from the Chiniki band government in Morley, Alberta, Canada. He attended Mount Royal College, and majored in business and communication. He studied Criminal Law at University of Alberta for one and a half years, but did not finish due to conflict with Aboriginal Canadian law and cultural beliefs. He has researched and studied Indigenous Aboriginal and treaty rights for over forty years. His work experience includes administrative duties in various capacities with the Stoney Nakoda Nation as well as with the federal and provincial governments. He served as Treaty 7 Vice President of the Indian Association of Alberta for ten years, working for recognition of and adherence to Aboriginal and treaty rights. Sykes is married to a gorgeous Mohawk woman from Khanawake, Quebec and is father to four children, three living, two girls and one boy. He resides and ranches on that First Nations reserve. He also raises registered quarter horses, paints as a hobby, loves to golf and work with young people. In addition, he does a few acting for theatrical or television films and gets to meet world renowned celebrities.
