Miguel Barreto

Miguel Barreto is a Puerto Rican film and television actor based in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. areas. He is known for his work on short films such as Who Knows (directed by Yuntao Liu) and Benevolence (directed by Kenny Vazquez) as well as several regional commercials. In 2012, he joined the United States Army while living in Puerto Rico and was stationed in Augusta, Georgia soon after. His dream to become an actor followed him to the States, but with Atlanta being two hours away from the base and his duties as an active soldier taking up most of his time, he chose to focus on his career in the military first. In 2017, he was stationed in Maryland after serving for five years in the Army. Miguel began auditioning in films around Maryland and DC in 2018. In January 2019, he began training in film and television performance at the McKinnon Acting Studio in Hyattsville, MD. He continued his acting training at the New York Film Academy, in 2020. In the two years since he began his journey as an actor, Miguel has been cast in multiple projects including regional commercials for the South Texas Vocational Technical Institute and the Arizona Automotive Institute, and a national commercial for Toyota.
