Quinn Strand

Quinn J. Strand was born Brittany Jean Strand in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 4, 1993. An avid writer, she began writing short books in first grade, though she has no books published yet. She did, however, win a poetry contest in sixth grade and had her poem published in "A Celebration of Young Poets; Pennsylvania - Spring 2006". After that, her attention shifted from short works to novels. That year she also participated in her first play, "Just Believe: A Children's Christmas Musical About Trusting in God", taking on the role of Leigh the Angel. Although she loved it, her stage fright and home circumstances kept her from the stage for several years after that. In 2007, she entered her school's PSSA Video Contest. She wrote the script, starred in the video, and edited the footage. Though her entry, "PSSAs Not Video Games", did not win the contest, it was then that she began to realize her love of film. Still a bit camera shy, she spent the next several years editing video game footage to music. In 2018, Quinn started to make big changes in her life. She took an Improv class at Steel City Improv Theater and finally came out of her shell, getting over her stage fright. She changed her name from Brittany to Quinn, something she had always wanted to do. She took an acting class and got involved with Stoops Ferry Productions. In Fall, 2018, Quinn starred in and co-wrote, "Jack Ohh Lantern" with Veronica White for a 3k Film Festival. At this point, she was completely hooked on writing and acting. She has since been a regular on both the Improv scene and the Pittsburgh Indie Film scene. Her latest role is Cupid from Stoops Ferry Productions' "Secret Santa".
