Driss Sekkat is an international award-winning executive producer and programming launch expert. Sekkat has won some of the industry's most prestigious awards, producing original content in over 15 countries in multiple languages. In 2017, Sekkat was tasked by Broadcast Management Group to create and launch the first financial Over-The-Top (OTT) network of its kind, TD Ameritrade Network. As Executive Producer, Sekkat led the network's launch of 8 hours of original live programming, which includes the latest addition "Market Overtime" and "The Watch list with Nicole Petallides" live from Times Square in New York City. Sekkat oversaw TDA Network's creative projects, including strategic partnerships with Bloomberg's 24 hour Twitter channel, Tic Toc and the network's special programming at the Nasdaq. Sekkat most recently created and launched a hard-hitting international talk show, The Investigative Journal, from studios in Times Square New York anchored by broadcast journalist Tal Heinrich. Other projects include Accuweather, Equinox, the International Monetary Fund and Verizon Fios News. In 2016, Driss Sekkat executive produced a 3 part hard-hitting documentary series on violent extremism, filmed in Morocco. Driss also produced two investigative mini-documentaries in Jakarta and Bourneo, Indonesia. Earlier in 2016, Driss Sekkat executive produced and co-developed two original format pilot series in Dubai with award-winning UK producer Tony Wood from Buccaneer Media. From 2012 to 2015 , Sekkat served as Head of Programming and Development at the Middle-East Broadcasting Networks, where he was in charge of overseeing original content in over 22 countries. Sekkat created and executive produced 4 seasons of the award winning investigative documentary Street Pulse . The flagship series won the 2015 Bronze Award at the New York festivals for its series on Cemetery Residents and was awarded The 2014 CINE Special Jury Award and The 2013 CINE Golden Eagle Award for its exclusive one hour documentary on El Minya quarry labor workers. The hit docu-series was nominated in 2013 by the International Broadcasting Awards in London for best documentary in the Middle-East. In 2014 - 2015, Sekkat created and executive produced 2 seasons of Our Neighborhood - an 8 part docu-series on life inside Cairo's neighborhoods. The critically acclaimed non-fiction series earned high praise from the international press. Early in his career, Sekkat was part of an integral team who helped launch two versions of international Sportscenter at ESPN, where he then succeeded on to join CNN. Sekkat also produced for leading French network TF1. His most notable experience includes his special coverage of President Obama's visit to Cairo in 2009 and the 2012 U.S. elections Driss was presented with the 2016 Ohio Wesleyan University Young Alumni Award, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
