Disoul is a rapper, singer, and a member of the group Dubmatique. With groupmates Otmc and Dj Choice, they are pioneers of the hip-hop scene in Quebec, Canada. In 1997, they released "La force de comprendre" which sold 150 000 copies and went platinum in Quebec alone. That year, they were the first hip-hop group to reach their local music award "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", where they were nominated for ''Revelation of the year", "Group of the year", and won "Best Rock Alternative Album" (Their first year at "Le Gala de L'ADISQ", they didn't have a Hip Hop section). In 1999, they released the self-titled album "Dubmatique", which went gold and received many accolades. In 2001, they separated after their third record "Influences". In 2004, Disoul returned to his original name Jérôme-Philippe and released a self-titled solo album. He mostly sang but would mix in his rap on some of the songs. Furthermore, he performed with a live band. In 2008, a Facebook group with 50 000 fans Facebook appears to reunite Dubmatique. They reformed and released "Trait d'union", where on certain tracks he brought in his newfound singing talent. Ever since with his group or solo, he is seen performing, or hosting events. In 2019, with Dubmatique, they were the first hip hop group to win the "Classic song award" at the Socan Gala. Also that year, Disoul was a featured guest on Dramatik's newest album "Le phénix, il était plusieurs fois"
