Ernie Berger began his on-screen career as a cast member of the original The Romper Room show broadcast live daily from the WBAL-TV studios in Baltimore in the early 1950's. During his high school years he was a songwriter and pianist in The Stratfords (O'Dell Records). He became a record producer and continued songwriting while in college; he produced records for The Nunsuch (DC Records) and The Persuaders (Achillean Records). He shares writing credit on The Lavells' record, "Share Him" (C.T.B. Records). Ernie became a DJ on rock station WLPL-FM in Baltimore in 1969. Ernie received a Master of Arts degree in filmmaking from the University of Maryland in 1976. He has directed dozens of TV commercials (garnering several Telly Awards, including one gold Classic Telly Award) and promotional films/videos. He added stand-up comedian to his resume in 2015.
