Derrick Halverson

Every event in Derrick's life has pointed him towards filmmaking, even when he couldn't quite see the destination of the path he was walking down. From the moment he was born in 1980, he and his mother spent time in Germany, Northern Texas, and finally Alaska, where Derrick graduated. The time spent in each vastly different location ignited his young imagination, and his mother was always there to support his choice in becoming a storyteller. Realizing this passion, in 2017 he moved back to Texas and studied at the KD Conservatory to further hone his innate skills of crafting stories. Life doesn't always go as planned though, and very briefly the reins were ripped away from him, steering him away from filmmaking. With the arrival of his daughter, Selena Michelle, he was able to slow down and remember the passions that had fueled him for so long. He can now be found working hard in the film industry, both in front of the camera and behind it.
