Pedro is a 34-year-old director and screenwriter, born and raised in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is a creative executive for Amazon Studios regarding the TV & movies Brazilian originals and he is a community leader at the Sundance Institute Collab. Cofounder of Laki Films, he wrote and directed the feature film "Absence" (Brazil), co-directed the feature "The Deep Voice of the Violin" (China) and directed the documentary "Beyond Pink". He co-created the recent seasons of two Multishow's TV shows and directed internet shows on channels with more than 5 million subscribers. He is also a screenwriting teacher and a directing teacher. His education background in Film relates to live classes with Peter Webber ("Girl with a Pearl Earring"), Tariq Anwar ("The King's Speech", "American Beauty"), Kimberly Peirce ("Boys Don't Cry"), Romain Compingt ("Divines") and Meg LeFauve ("Inside Out", "Captain Marvel"), all nominated and/or awarded with Oscars, Baftas, Golden Globes and/or prizes at Cannes. Pedro also holds a graduation degree in Law, three specializations in Entertainment Law and a master degree in Intellectual Property. For some years he was a civil society representative at the United Nations and at the Brazilian Congress, always regarding to access to knowledge and copyrights. He worked as a lawyer and used to teach at some of Rio's best universities, concerning film and law. Pedro used to be a volunteer on actions regarding access to knowledge. Pedro was a "finalist" for the Sundance Institute's Feature Film Program 2018 and a semi-finalist for the FRAPA 2018 Screenwriting Contest. He was selected twice in a roll for the French-Brazilian Screenwriting Workshop inside the Varilux French-Brazilian Festival 2016 & 2017 and won a scholarship for Sundance's Collab 12-Week Screenwriting Intensive and for Sundance's Directing Course. Pedro is currently involved into the writing and directing of feature films like "After the Storm", "The Last Truth Club", "In Between", "Lady Ass" and "Love Happens".
