Milena Korolczuk received her MFA in screenwriting from the American Film Institute in 2018 and has an MFA from the Academy of Arts in Poznan, Poland. In her writing, she combines her interest in characters living on the fringes of society, who are immersed in problems of income inequality, and social oppression. It is Milena's humble upbringing in rural Poland under the last years of Communism as well as her sensibility as a painter, sculptor, and photographer that shapes her approach to the topics she weaves into her work. Her acclaimed artworks impact her storytelling, relying less on dialogue, leaving room for visual poetry, and, at times, for magical realism. She loves writing intimate, humorous, character-driven dramas for both film and television. Her screenplay, "Animal" was a finalist in the 2019 Script Pipeline competition and the 2019 ScreenCraft Drama Contest.
