Charles Hamelin

Charles Hamelin is a Canadian Olympic speed skater. He was born in Lévis, Quebec and raised in Sainte-Julie, Quebec. He began speed skating at just nine years old. His parents are Manon Goulet and his father, Yves Hamelin is the director of the Olympic Oval in Calgary, Alberta. Charles's younger brother François Hamelin is also a speed skater. Charles has been competing in the World Cup circuit since 2003. He has earned five Olympic medals; three gold, one silver and one bronze. In 2010, he was the only athlete to earn multiple gold medals at the Vancouver Olympics for Canada. He resides in Montreal, Quebec with his partner, Genevieve Tardif and his daughter Violette.
