Zusette DeLeon

Zusette Isabel DeLeon, now better known by her stage name "Z", is an American independent and multi-talented recording artist who, as a gifted musician, singer and songwriter, specializes in the Pop, R&B, and Hip Hop genres. For her debut single in 2015, Z collaborated with renowned New Jersey rapper Fetty Wap. The single, "Nobody's Better," garnered a whopping 5+ million views on SoundCloud and birthed a fervent following of fans eager for her next release. Z was born and currently resides in New Jersey. Her background is one that is quintessentially American with her maternal grandmother having made her way to the USA from the Dominican Republic in 1968 to pursue a better life for her seven children. A hard-working woman, she scrimped and saved to ensure her six girls and one boy could fully take part in all that America had to offer. All became citizens, attended public schools in New York and joined the work force, soon raising their own families. Z's mother was just 15 years of age when she came to America, shortly followed by the man who would become her father. They crossed paths in NY City, fell in love and married at 19 and 21 respectively. Taking up residence in a small apartment just across from the George Washington Bridge, Z's brother Albert was soon born followed by her sister Natalie. Her parents then moved to New Jersey, where the girl destined to become "Z" was born on September, 21st, 1995. Z has always had a love for music. Even as a toddler she would break out in a passionate rendition of a myriad of song she would memorize by ear. Despite this prodigy-like gift, her innate ability to sing wasn't noticed until, in kindergarten, she attended the Memorial School of Paramus, NJ. Her music instructor there was teaching the children to sing "Pearly Shells" for a school performance and took note of her extraordinary ability. This led to a phone call to Z's mother informing her of her daughter's prior unnoticed special and beautiful gift. Ever since Z has credited her mother as being her "number one supporter." Soon she was enrolled in singing lessons and then accrued over a decade of experience in classic, opera, pop and mainstream vocal training.
