On the last night of summer 1962, a group of young people in a small California town seek one last night of fun before facing the responsibilities of adulthood. Directed by George Lucas and featuring a star-studded cast, this masterpiece is a night filled with drinking, love affairs, cruising, bowling and dancing, accompanied by rock n roll's greatest hits, as the teens grapple with the uncertainties, romances and aspirations of their futures until dawn breaks.

Told in four different New Year's Eves in the mid 1960s, John, Terry, Debbie, Steve and Laurie deal with adulthood, the Vietnam war, peace rallies, and relationships.
