Before Trilogy

Jesse, an American, and Céline, a Frenchwoman, meet on a train in Vienna and immediately feel a connection. So they decide to spend the next 24 hours together, between relaxed walks and conversations of all kinds. What will happen the next morning when they say goodbye to each other? An endearing start to the "Before..." trilogy with two protagonists with undeniable chemistry.

Jesse and Celine met 9 years ago in Vienna and although they promised to get together again, it never happened. A decade later and in a different context, they meet again, but this time in another european city: Paris. As if time had never passed, they share a coffee, walk the parisian streets and recall memories of that day in the austrian capital, while their present is tacitly hovering off-screen. Is it just a nostalgic reunion or is there more to it?

The third film in Richard Linklater's "Before..." trilogy jumps forward nine years: Jesse and Celine are married with two daughters, headed for a vacation in Greece. The couple's ability to talk to each other honestly is the trademark of the trilogy, but this time Jesse and Celine cover their intimacy and the challenges of the passage of time and marriage. Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy reprise their characters with ease, and you definitely have to join them to know their final outcome.
