With just weeks before their royal wedding, Paige and Edvard find their relationship and the Danish monarchy in jeopardy when an old law is brought to light, stating that an unmarried heir to the throne may marry only a woman of noble blood or else he must relinquish his crown.

As King Edvard and Queen Paige prepare to leave Copenhagen on their honeymoon, Eddie, to please Paige, changes their destination from a Caribbean island to the fictional crown protectorate of Belavia; shortly after they arrive, a henchman (Oliver) for the ambitious Danish prime minister (Polonius) sees the couple, and Paige recognizes her former high-school boyfriend Scott, now a journalist. Soon the king and queen discover Oliver, machines, and a crew, about to start clearing a forest preserve to make way for an oil pipeline; the king orders them not to begin. The royal couple make progress with the prince of Belavia, but Polonius does his dirty tricks. Edvard and Paige learn that Scott has secretly taken part in the evil work of Polonius and Oliver. Many hijinks abound, but good and right prevail, so Eddie and Paige win, as does Belavia. The Danish parliament follow the leadership of their king, thereby defeating Polonius.

Just after the first anniversary of King Edvard and Queen Paige, they fly to the fictional kingdom of Sangyoon, in Southeast Asia, for the wedding of Princess Myra, the daughter of King Saryu. Paige realizes that Myra feels displeased and unhappy with her arranged engagement (economically motivated) to Kah, an unkind, unethical, and vicious businessman; Paige learns that Myra is secretly in love instead with Alu, an humble stable boy. Eddie and Paige seek a way to help, and they soon find themselves in an international incident. A royal elephant, Kayla, disappears, so Eddie, Paige, Soren, and Rayen go after her, and, predictably, then encounter a series of problems; however, they get help, and they find Kayla and return her to King Saryu. True love prevails, and even Soren gets a girlfriend.
