Ma and Pa Kettle Collection

Tom Kettle, his wife Kim, and their new baby are living happily with his parents in their new home, until Kim's uppity parents arrive from Boston to visit. They proceed to take over the rearing of the baby and the whole Kettle household, and Ma and Pa Kettle decide to move back to their ramshackle farm house. There they discover uranium on their property--or think they did.

When Pa wins a jingle-writing contest, he and Ma head for New York City. They get in trouble with gangsters when they lose some stolen money which they had already agreed to deliver to one of the thugs.

Elwin Kettle might win a scholarship to an agricultural college. Essay contest judges Mannering and Crosby decide to choose between the two finalists by spending a weekend at the home of each. Pa makes numerous cosmetic improvements to his rundown home to impress the judges, but all wash away in a torrential rainstorm. Will the judges still award the scholarship to Elwin?

Ma and Pa, with their daughter Rosie, go off to Hawai'i to answer ailing Cousin Rodney's call for help running his pineapple farm while he recovers. Pa soon causes a major explosion and gets himself kidnapped.

The Kettles are in Paris along with their daughter-in-law's parents the Parkers. Pa tries to buy racy postcards. He also gets in big trouble when he is given a letter to deliver to Adolph Wade, a spy who gets killed by spies Inez and Cyrus Kraft.

The Kettles and their fifteen children are about to be evicted from their rundown rustic home when Pa wins the grand prize by coming up with a new tobacco slogan. Birdie Hicks is jealous of the family's new wealth, which includes a completely automated modern home, and accuses Pa of stealing the slogan. Reporter Kim Parker proves Birdie wrong and marries Tom Kettle.

Ma and Pa are trying to raise enough money at the county fair to send their daughter Rosie to college. Ma competes in baking and Pa enters a trotter in a horse race, while Rosie takes up with handsome young Marvin Johnson.

On their wedding night Bob informs his new bride Betty that he has bought a chicken farm. An abandoned chicken farm, to be exact, which is obvious when the two move in. Betty endures Bob's enthusiasm for the rural life, rustic inconveniences, and battling nature, but her patience is severely tested when glamorous neighbor Harriet Putnam seems to set her sights on Bob.

Ma and the kids head back to the Ozarks for a visit with Pa's brother Uncle Sedge. He's working his way through a twenty years long relationship with Miss Bedelia Baines.

Ma and Pa do their bit to hook lumberman Brad Johnson up with spoiled socialite Sally Flemming. Ma teaches Sally how to behave like a hick so she'll be compatible with Brad.
