Photos of two of the best investigators - Maksim Razin and Nikolay Udalov - adorn the honor roll of the Investigative Committee of a provincial town. But in life, detectives prefer to bypass each other. The direct, sharp and impudent Razin cannot stand the intellectual Udalov, who lives according to the charter and observes the law to such an extent that he is sure that it is not a sin to lay down his colleagues for work.
