Football is the greatest show on Earth. Goals, emotions, suspense - its key elements of dramatic storytelling are what brings joy to so many. But behind this universe hides another: killings (of players and referees), kidnappings, suicides, extortion, fraud... Stories that seem like a movie, but are real and play out in all corners of the world. The "B-side" of football we're still quite unaware of: a true-life, behind-the-curtain side of football that is even more dramatic than the game itself. Hosted by UEFA Champions League winner and Real Madrid legend Pedja Mijatovic, these stories of Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff, Robert Enke, Jose Antonio Santamaria, Andres Escobar, and many more come to life. Using devices from fictional storytelling, cinematic techniques, and re-enactments, this is not like a documentary, but like a thriller: a roller coaster ride with all the twists, climaxes, and cliffhangers so well-known from the game itself.
