Sorrowland (2023)

A 10-year-old Daisy-Jane, leaves the schoolyard, embarking on her usual commute home. Taken off the streets by a mysterious woman, her journey ultimately spans across decades as she is thrust into an enigmatic world of a 'parallel' race co-existing on earth and beyond. Under the guise of being 'saved' from the land of sorrow, and promises of a better life, Daisy's saviours (at least, that's the sales pitch) train, manipulate and raise her to be one of their own. In the near future of 2032, a more 'seasoned' Daisy-Jane arises with a mission from her saviours- to find others just like her. She sets out to find six strangers each with their own wounds and shared commonalities with Daisy. Throughout her interactions with these 'kindred spirits', Daisy's psyche is unapologetically unpacked revealing lost time, trauma and the true intentions behind her saviours. Welcome to Sorrowland.
