It's time for that forever-supportive sidekick to get her own story...kind of. [supporting] follows the traditional story of a Romantic Comedy, but from the perspective of the ingenue's sometimes-a-mess-but-always-there-for-you best friend, Karen. This sometimes campy, sometimes serious tale aims to show the juxtaposition between what the world expects of Karen (her supporting role) and how she views her own dreams / desires. It's inherently lighthearted and playful in nature, but aims to show the real frustration associated with casting aside your own feelings for someone else. Throughout the series, Karen has the power to change her circumstances, but she chooses not to. Over the 5 episodes, we see how frustration can build when consistently placing yourself in that "supporting" role until it finally becomes to much. In the end, we're left thinking - is it our circumstances or own will that puts us in these positions? Or is it that we simply need to find another story to be a part of?
