In late-1980s/early-1990s Spain, radio sports-journalism implicated an important range in power. Francisco Javier Maldonado, better known as Paco el Cóndor, a radio veteran and the most important sports journalist of 1980s Spanish radio, who knows the sports industry better than anyone and maintains a hegemonic leadership among radio ratings. The other side of the coin is seen through Marga Laforet, a fellow intelligent journalist who sees how her radio show is moved to the late night in favor of prioritizing the more commercially-friendly show run by Jota and his team.
