In order to canonize or beatify a saint, the Catholic Church must first have evidence of three different miracles. Over the last century, The Vatican has verified the sanctity of various individuals like Pope John II, beatified by his successor Pope Benedict, and Saint Valentine, who stopped working proven miracles and was therefore deemed a pagan saint by the Church. These cases and many more are portrayed in this series, telling in each episode the story of one of those alleged miracles.
