Liliana and Valentina are twins separated at birth. One evening the rich and ambitious Carlota Uribe survives a car crash but has a miscarriage. She is in the same hospital room with Emilia Castillo, a humble woman with a simple background, who has just given birth to twin girls. Carlota bribes the nurse, who helps her steal one of the twins. Now 21 years later the beautiful and shy Liliana finds a job at the cosmetic department in Uribe's store while her twin sister, who is believed to have died as a baby, is actually Valentina Uribe, the daughter of Carlota and Roberto Uribe. Liliana falls in love with Luis Fernando Robles, one of the managers in the store. But their relationship is not in Valentina's plans nor Lulú's, a colleague and a friend from college of Luis Fernando. Ever since their first encounter during a cocktail party, Liliana experiences strange reactions in the presence of Valentina and is unaware they're actually twins separated at birth.
