Kismat (2011)

Born on the 15th of August 1947, Aditya Merchant and Kabir Khan mark the return of male protagonists on Indian Television in KISMAT an epic saga. A story of enmity between two powerful characters, set over 60 years the story is set in the immediate post independence era and spans to the present generation. The show revolves around the two central characters Aditya Merchant and Kabir Khan. Aditya Merchant is the heir to a rich industrialist family born with a golden spoon. Life is already charted out for Aditya as an heir to one of the richest industrialist families. He has access to all the privileges and was taught early in life that winning is all that matters, at any cost, and being a true Merchant, Aditya has made winning his habit in everything he does. While Kabir Khan, though born to Muslim parents is adopted by a Hindu family, is fated for a life full of struggles. Kabir has to face adversities early in life which moulds him to become an aggressive go getter who stops at nothing and nobody. Kabir's sole agenda is to get rich and be powerful. But KISMAT rules that both Aditya and Kabir's paths must cross & change their lives forever. In time, this immutable play of destiny brings Aditya and Kabir, face-to-face in a conflict that has far reaching implications. A twist of fate, an unfortunate turn of events, coincidence, Kismat - all conspire to make this conflict grow bigger with each passing year until this tug of war between Aditya Merchant and Kabir Khan, for Revenge, Power and Prestige eventually becomes the sole reason for their existence.
