The Secret Railroad (1977)

A Canadian animated series. The young boy Simon discovers a magical steam locomotive hidden in the basement of his apartment building. Simon takes on the role of its engineer and uses the locomotive to travel on many magical adventures. He frequently meets Stella, a girl with star-shaped hair who takes different forms and roles in each episode.
