The story of the warship Vasa's fate is well known. But the stories about the people who built the ship have not been told. Until now. In Anders Wahlgren's two-part docudrama, we get a glimpse of how people lived for nearly four hundred years ago. It has taken four years to complete the film story and using the latest digital technology, the reconstruction of Stockholm. Stockholm four hundred years ago was a small capital with barely fifteen thousand inhabitants. The rich people lived around the castle and Stortorget, but the majority of Stockholmers were poor and had to be content with simple wooden houses. Both animals and humans coexisted on the dirty and stinking alleys.
