Marsman (2014)

Marsman tells the story of 40-year-old Nico Marsman, who takes care of his autistic brother after the death of their mother. We step into the story at the point where, on top of everything he loses his job and his wife tells him she needs a break. From now on he's on his own. Nico wants to get back on track as soon as possible, but where to start? Luckily he can count on his friends Marc, Peter and Ludovic with whom he plays in a band called "De Mannen Van Mars" (which translates loosely to "The Martians") and his 20-year-old daughter Femke. Step by step, Nico tries to climb up the hill and find a lasting solution for his brother. Marsman is a tragic but also funny story about choices and relationships, loyalty and friendship, about unconditionality and doubt.
