Diagnosis: Boring is a web series that tackles the intricacies of struggling with modern day depression in an exaggerated, surrealist version of our world. The series follows Jess Lowry, a prototypical millennial after she is diagnosed with a fatal case of being "boring", an allegory for depression in our world. Jess finds herself in a position that many people today find themselves in: socially connected, employed, healthy, and utterly miserable. We watch as, episode by episode, Jess goes through everyday cures for being boring-therapy apps, self-help gurus, reliance on alcohol. The story of Jess Lowry is very much one of a sane character in an insane world. The trickiness of depression is that it tends to be a sickness that affects the patients logic, and people suffering from it often don't feel like there is anything wrong with them, but rather the world around them. Diagnosis: Boring aims to get in Jess's head, to a place where the viewing audience can see things the same way she does.
