Faan hak sin fung (1999)

Seurng Kin Hong (Ho-Man Chan) is training to be in the CID (Criminal Investigation Department). On his last patrol, Kin Hong sees a man with a gun and his partner gets the license plate. Chau Loi Dai (Maggie Siu) and Ko Hei (Ben Ng Ngai Cheung) are also on the case of this guy. The guy goes into the motel where Loi Dai and Ko Hei are stationed. Kin Hong follows the guy into the motel also. The guy and two of his accomplices suspect that it is a trap so they make a run for it. Kin Hong is held hostage and Ko Hei tells the guy that he can shoot faster than the man can hurt Kin Hong. Kin Hong hits the guy and gets away. All three suspects get captured. Kin Hong hates Ko Hei because he wasn't concerned with his safety. Ko Hei and Lo Dai work for Ho Fei Fan (Lai Yiu Cheung). Ko Hei is always in trouble because he always mishandles cases or blows them out of proportion. Kin Hong passes his examinations and goes into training. He excels and Fei Fan decides to give him a chance.
