Always Had A Nice Time is a character-driven documentary that follows the lives of six different people living in Toronto's Parkdale community going through transitional moments in their lives. Candy is a trans woman whose late sexual awakening has inspired her to live life more boldly. Jack is an artist who has created a new art movement (Spiritual Depressionism) and is desperately looking for others to join his cause. Kingi is a Toronto fashion designer who has specialized in screen printing clothing for over thirty years. As gentrification takes hold of the neighbourhood, she is trying to figure out how to stay relevant and find new innovative ways to keep her business alive. Grizz is an artist living in an encampment at a neighbourhood park. He spends his days painting, getting high, meeting new people, and grieving over the recent loss of his two daughters and granddaughter. Close friends, Ron and Phil, are panhandlers. They share what they make with one another, but with Ron's health in decline, their friendship and future of panning together is put in jeopardy. Always Had A Nice Time is a celebration of doing what makes you happy and a reminder that happiness looks different for each and every one of us.
