The beach is a dynamic place, but also a place full of dangers: "the beach is one of the most intense habitats on earth. In summer a desert, in winter a polar region," says nature filmmaker Ruben Smit, walking along the beach of the Langevelderslag, while at the coast there is almost wind force 8. At the same time, the beach is the habitat of many plants and animals. Ruben Smit's latest, 45-minute documentary shows how only the very strongest organisms can survive here.
