Lesego and Boom shaka are two slacking township friends in their mid 20's that waste their days building castles in the sky, drinking boxed wine and smoking marijuana. Lesego is an orphan who was raised by her enabling grandmother, Dipuo while Boom shaka is a product of a big family thus her hustling nature. After Boom shaka fails to settle a eight hundred rand debt she owes the local loan shark, Dollar, he catches up with her while at Dipuo's with Lesego and confiscates the brand new TV after it was just delivered. He threatens to sell it to recover his money should they not pay him a thousand by sunset. Boom shaka assures her that they'll get the TV back and suggests means of them raising money, from gambling at an underground casino in the squatter camps where young women gamble with their children's social grants, to helping out at a salon since it's the end of the month, to posing as health inspectors and extort the new supermarket owner, James, for a good review. After successfully executing their plan, a pair of masked gunmen storm the store and rob Lesego of the bribe and her phone when it rings during the robbery. Boom Shaka recognises one of the assailants as Makhekhe, a nyaope boy from the neighbourhood. With the clock ticking, the friends set out to find Makhekhe and eventually track him down high. Their pursuit continues in attempt of raising the money before dusk.
