Diane is a Mandarin botanist, researching medicinal plants around the world, to find new vaccines to stem various epidemics linked to environmental degradation due to pollution. It is in the heart of Australia, ancestral Aboriginal land that the research takes her. Among the guides who accompany her, she becomes friends and then passionate with Rigby, a young aboriginal. Rigby guides her to the Aboriginal sacred reserve, and especially to the heart of his culture. The ancestral knowledge of Aboriginal culture has been transmitted to Rigby by his ancestors, he brings him where few have gone. Australian wildlife is rich and dangerous, but it is all the more so because of the impact of man on the environment. The 2 main protagonists are confronted with a mutant reptilian species, a crocodile of supernatural dimensions. The hunt for plants becomes a manhunt and a struggle for life.
